List of pc games supported by xbox 360 controller

But if the controller I own continues to be a problem to acess games in game pass for PC, I will have to rethink maintain my subscription in the near future. So I ask, Microsoft, is there a plan to improve different controller support than Xbox controller?

Any of the suggestions I gave are possible? Was this discussion helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Thats what is required to get a ps controller working and yes sony wrote it that way and you have to use the drivrr not a sony driver.

How well its supported by your controller is dependent on how rhe Manufacturer writes the drivers. With steam and xbox its simple steam just add the games to your profile in the steam app for non steam games.

As you saw ps4 requires extra programs along with steam so. Fyi the reaaon why sony is easy on steam is because sony relys on steam not windows to play their pc games as psn network isnt on pc but they distibute their sony playstation games on pc what do you expect.

Was this reply helpful? I have to correct you. Steam can natively control a PS4 Dualshock with no extra programs. I've been playing Hades and a multitude of other games on my PS4 dualshock including but not limited to Rocket League, FFIX, Everspace, Life is Strange, etc; and never had to install anything, just plug in a bluetooth dongle and connect the controller.

So you're completely and utterly wrong that its up to developers to create drivers. Keeping in mind that FFXV is on gamepass. So I apologize that you're completely ignorant of the fact that Gamepass does it for the wanton of using THEIR controllers and makes it obtusely difficult to make something work that should be plug and play.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong as I do not understand much about controller drivers but appreciate those who develop them so I can play. It seems like there really aren't many layers to allow all controllers to play. Within the documentation it says it uses the same API. So all the game manufacturer would have to do is support just Microsoft?

I thought Doom Eternal had trouble because some files may have been corrupted and can't find where I can verify the files. Last, was this same situation but with input. Normally the controller won't be recognized but button display was showing in this case. Every post I found online was about launching in Big Picture mode in steam.

I don't mean to come across like Xbox app is the worst because I have been able to play games and the service is fun when it works. They've made it incredibly easy to use and swap between the large list of combat skills so you can nail that rotation and pump out big damage. Nier: Automata is a game made with consoles in mind, which means it was made for a controller. A lot of the functions that are relatively effortless on a controller can be awkward to pull off with a keyboard and mouse.

Dodging requires a double key press of W, A, S, or D and camera sensitivity is simply not calibrated for use with a mouse. The game also launches into top-down shooter segments occasionally, where the lack of analog movement can be sorely missed. Analog control is a serious must for any driving game. The smash hit Rocket League is an online competitive mashup of racing and soccer or "football," if you prefer , so you'll want whatever edge you can get.

Having full control over your steering radius can be a big help, and so is more stable control over the camera in a game where you need to keep splitting your focus between the ball and the other players looking to run you over. Nioh is a brutally difficult action-RPG in the vein of Dark Souls, meaning that you'll need a controller if you want any chance of surviving the supernatural demons it throws your way.

This hellish Samurai romp often requires you to slash, dodge and change stances within a matter of seconds, and while mouse and keyboard support was recently patched in, you'll have a much easier time managing all that chaos on a gamepad. So if you want to get those classic Castlevania-like experiences and have already had your fill of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night , you can come pretty close by playing Hollow Knight with a controller.

The game doesn't make use of the mouse in any way, so the gamepad is the way to go here. Keyboard and mouse support should be playable with some tinkering with mouse sensitivities, but it should also be clear that this game was designed for a controller. Bayonetta's pedigree rests with games like Devil May Cry and other stylish action games that take advantage of a gamepad's strong suits, and the developers even note that it's "best experienced with a controller" on the Steam store page.
